    • Ile aux Barques is now known as Ile Jean-Jacques Rousseau.
    • This location is better known for the large underspanned suspension bridge completed in 1834 by Dufour (documented in great detail in reference GHD). I have, thus far, omitted the underspanned bridge from the inventory. This entry is for the small footbridge that connected to the larger underspanned bridge.     • GHD describes how Dufour designed the bridge but was replaced (for political reasons) by a novice engineer, Mr. Hug who produced his own design. The bridge collapsed under test loading.
