Suspension Bridges Crossing Public Garden Lagoon

This is a list of the only bridge from the suspension bridge inventory crossing Public Garden Lagoon. Please note that different rivers with the same name will be grouped together. For example, selecting 'Bear Creek' shows bridges across several different Bear Creeks. Also, similarly named rivers are grouped separately. For example, 'River Dee' (UK) bridges are grouped separately from 'Dee River' (Australia) bridges. Wherever you see a Bridgemeister ID number click it to isolate the bridge on its own page.

Notes:

  • Often claimed to have been the shortest "functioning" suspension bridge up until 1921 when a steel girder was added as the primary means of support. However this was not true. There were shorter suspension bridges, some of which are still in existence. For example, see Schaukelbrücke Ilmpark completed in 1833, still in use as of the 2010s, and only 48.6 feet long. Likely the shortest functioning suspension bridge ever built was at Castle Bergedorf in Hamburg, Germany with a main span of 22.6 feet (6.9 meters).
