All photos by David Denenberg. Please do not reuse without permission. The Al Zampa Memorial Bridge was constructed alongside the first (1927) and second (1958) Carquinez Strait cantilever bridges. These pictures were taken in September 2003 seven weeks before the bridge opened. The middle bridge (the older cantilever) is scheduled to be removed. All of the pictures were taken from the Crockett side looking toward Vallejo.
