This 1882 Keystone Bridge Co. wrought iron truss was moved to this location in the early 1900s and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places for many years. In 2012, the Virginia Department of Transportation announced that it would be replaced, but subsequently announced (in early 2013) that the historic bridge would likely be refurbished and an adjacent span would be added to support two-lane traffic.
