December 2015 flooding further damaged this already derelict bridge. Dave writes: "All photos taken from the north side of the river. The south bank of the river where the tower had been located had been swept away right up to about a foot of the castle. The area of missing land has been replaced by tons of rock. The north tower had remained standing. The force of the flood carried the south tower over onto the north bank of the river. The first photo is of the top of the south tower lying horizontally on the bank"
