Dave writes: "The 'cables' appear to be made from steel tubing. The towers are square section tubing. The bridge is in an area were remedial work has been carried out after the closure of a deep shaft coal-mine. According to plaques in the area. Most of the coal seams were over 2,000 feet below ground level. The river under the bridge runs down a fish ladder."
