One end of the original 1838 suspension bridge.
Jochem writes this next card "shows some minor changes of the original bridge cables, new railings, and sidewalks have been installed, possibly in the 1920s."
The original suspension bridge was damaged in 1940, temporarily rebuilt, and then destroyed 1944 as seen in the next card.
Jochem writes this next card "shows the temporary bridge from 1944/45, on an alignment adjacent to the old bridge, with the destroyed pillars of the old bridge in the background."
