This is a single suspension bridge from my historical inventory of suspension bridges.
Follow the Inventory link for more information about the inventory.
|1834 Ile aux Barques (Bergues)|
|Ile aux Barques, Geneva, Switzerland|
|Principals:||Guillame Henri Dufour|
|Main cables:||Wire (iron)|
- GHD: "...asymmetrical bridge supported by a single pier."
- Ile aux Barques is now known as Ile Jean-Jacques Rousseau.
- This location is better known for the large underspanned suspension bridge completed in 1834 by Dufour (documented in great detail in reference GHD). I have, thus far, omitted the underspanned bridge from the inventory. This entry is for the small footbridge that connected to the larger underspanned bridge.
